Before going to bed, I blew up 7 balloons and hung them from the top of the door so Oliver would walk through them the next morning. I wanted to do something for him so he would know it was a special day since his party was last week. I woke up at 7:45 and waited outside his door to see his reaction. He looked thoroughly confused as I could tell he literally opens his eyes and jumps out of the bed. No get awake time in the bed for him. I started singing Happy Birthday to him and he of course told me Happy Birthday as well. Then he warmed up the balloons and knocked them around a good bit.
Not only was it his actual birthday, but also his holiday party at school. I loved that before he left for school he wanted to make sure I remembered to bring Ms Barker and Ms Q's Christmas card that we had made for them. He delivered it to them personally at the party.
I know all women want gears like on a lawnmower and circles for Christmas!
Pretty sure he definitely realized that today was a big day for him as he was pretty wired. He opened all his gifts with the same sweet face.
His clear favorite gift was a my little sandbox. He is so pumped to be able to play in sand inside. I'm pretty pumped too even if it is slightly messy. It was a fun day. We hung outside yesterday evening for a good 45 minutes and I chased him by request. I'm on day 3 with a sinus headache, but I just couldn't tell my birthday boy no. You only turn 3 one time.
