Blimpie sucks

Not sure if you knew, but over the weekend was Blimpie's birthday. They ran this ad in the AJC that they would be giving away free subs with a purchase of a drink on May 1-3. Adam and I rush out to Blimpie on Saturday to get our lunch and we arrive at the Smyrna Blimpie to discover written on the door "we will not honor the birthday special because corporate doesn't reimburse us." I'm a little sad because I had already started looking forward to my sandwich, but don't think it is that big of a deal since the promotion is running all weekend. Late Saturday afternoon I start calling the other 5 Blimpies near us to see if they are honoring their corporate promotion. GUESS WHAT???? NONE OF THEM WERE. Not even 1.

Now I'm mad. First of all, why would corporate run such a special if the franchise owners didn't have to honor it? Second, if we are buying a drink we are probably still covering their overhead and we leave with warm fuzzies in our heart for Blimpie. Not to mention I'm sure we would also have bought chips with our sandwiches. WHY?? WHY?? WHY?? I can't tell you the number of times I have paid for something to make a customer or client happy so they have a good experience, continue to use me, and recommend me. I believe that is how you run and grow a business that lasts. That is probably because I understand American culture and how to conduct business here. Why don't others that want to make money in America also understand how we operate? It isn't by counting out the pickles I want on my sub. This is why I go to coldstone or bruster's over baskin robbins. If I am paying that much for ice cream I don't want my scoops shorted.

Maybe I should buy a website like Molly does to her enemies. (btw, remind me not to piss Molly off) Call it www.blimpiesubs.com and write about how much they suck. I think instead I am going to write a letter to Blimpie corporate to let them know how irritated I am with them. Maybe I'll get something free. HA.....like it would be honored.

Molly got mad at her landlord and bought her landlord's name.com. The landlord is trying to be a recording artist. Molly plans to put her story on there and explain how the landlord won't give her the security deposit.

Sorry Blimpie sucks. Did you let them know you were now a loyal Subway customer?

I would just like to apologize for the situation that you experienced with the ATL area Blimpie stores. I own and operate a Blimpie in Cornelia, GA. We whole heartedly participated in the bday promotion and had great success. The reason most of the owners in your area did not participate is because (Not to sound racist) most of them are Indian and basically refuse to believe that spending money will help them make money. I go to every owners meeting and hear the same complaints about honoring coupons and punching out Blimpie cards for customers. There are several franchisees, like myself, who firmly understand that taking care of customers is priority 1. Hopefully in the not to distant future you will begin to see a change in the ATL Blimpie market. A lot of the negative owners are losing their stores and more business savvy people are buying them up. Again, I do sincerely apologize and hope that eventually you’ll be able to enjoy the Blimpie experience the way it is meant to be. Thank you
